Top Ten Travel Tips

Plan. Things will inevitably go wrong so try to be flexible and patient

Bring Backup Batteries. By bringing a portable charger or extra camera batteries you dont have to fear about missing those perfect camera moments or potentionally being stuck without a way to call for help.

Make Photocopies of Important Documents. This will save you time and money when travelling if you forget or lose any documents such as your passport.

Put your most valuable items in your carry on luggage. This will reduce the risk as it is more likely for suitcases to be lost or damaged.

Must have adventures for your bucket list

  • Hang glide over Rio de Janeiro.
  • Raft through the Grand Canyon.
  • Swim in Iceland's Blue Lagoon.
  • Walk along the scenic Kakum canopy in Ghana.
  • Swim with sharks in the the tropical Maldives.
  • Hike the Striding Edge in Britain.
  • Skydive over Interlaken, Switzerland, and see the Swiss Alps below.
  • Absail down a waterfall
  • Ride the fast rapids along the Zambezi river in Zambia.

The best destination for teens: Barcelona

Whether you’re a lover of art, architecture, food, shopping or sunshine, Barcelona has got it all. Barcelona welcomes its international guests with open arms, especially students, offering free student passes to its many museums on certain weekdays. La Font Màgica has become one of Barcelona’s most popular attractions and is where the “Pijromusical” is held annually at the end of September, a huge fireworks display with a music, water and a laser show, which is the closing event for Barcelona’s main festival, La Mercè. Or you can walk amongst the sharks L’Aquarium de Barcelona is one of Europe’s biggest marine leisure and education centres.

Get chocolatey at the Museu de la Xocolata, watch football at its best at the Camp Nou, discover the city skyline with the harbour ferry, Las Golondrinas or find your way out of the Laberint D’Horta (The Maze Park), the oldest and most beautiful park in Barcelona…

Staying safe abroad

  1. Avoid dark or non-tourist areas at night.
  2. Never leave your drink unattended.Anywhere.
  3. Keep money in multiple locations. In case some is robbed.
  4. Get travel insurance.
  5. Make your friends and family aware of your location.
  6. Get a strong bag. Wear your bag/backpack facing front. Not something with a thin strap that can be broken, or a clutch that can be grabbed, or a wallet in a front/ back pocket.
  7. Don't bring attention to yourself as being a tourist.
  8. Keep the address to your accommodation.
  9. Don't take cabs that aren't registered with the city.
  10. Lock Up! Lock your windows and doors, hide everything inside, and keep a lock on your belongings.
